I call this our forest-bathing soap, because for me this soap has a similar calming effect to walking in the woods here. Sometimes more calming, because these days I spend half my forest walks telling the puppy to stop eating random things off the ground in the woods.
These bars are made with Douglas Fir branches gathered on Whidbey after winter storms and Douglas Fir and Juniper branches given to us as gifts from friends who have to trim branches due to home expansion or maintenance projects. The soap cleans like a champ and most people find the fir/juniper scent to be both relaxing and uplifting--like receiving a hug from a generous tree (or a sexy lumberjack if you prefer that image) after a long, hard day.
Storage and life of the bar: To extend the life of the bar, store it where it can dry quickly after use and where it doesn't get regular spray from the faucet.
Size: Roughly 3 ounce bars. These are made by hand in small batches and hand cut by cool women, not machines. This means most bars are 3 ounce and that the bars can range from 2.8 ounces to 3.5 ounces. We keep anything smaller than 2.8 ounces for ourselves and our families and to give as gifts to neighbors in need. We're not machines, people, nor do we want to be. :-)
Ingredients: Whidbey Douglas Fir and Juniper branches infused into organic extra virgin olive oil, plus castor oil, sustainably sourced palm oil, coconut oil, distilled water, sodium hydroxide, sodium lactate, and fir essential oil .
Packaging: This year, because of the global pandemic, we decided to wrap our soaps and shampoo bars in a small piece of paper to ensure safe handling. If you would prefer no packaging at all, just put that in the comments field when you order, and you'll get them bare naked! If you live off island and we ship them to you, they will still need to show up in a box. We're magic, but not that magic. Yet. :-)
